We know most vacationers come to Corolla because of its wide sandy beaches, but there is so much to see and do here too! Area attractions include the historic Currituck Beach Lighthouse. Just $7 to climb and the view is absolutely worth all 214 steps to the top.
Steeped in history, Corolla Village will take you back in time. Be sure to stop by the Corolla Village Garden and The Wild Horse Museum. Both offer peepholes into the Corolla of Olde. For an all encompassing view of the area’s history, be sure to check out the Outer Banks Center for Wildlife Education. Next stop, The Whalehead Club. Built as a second residence for Edward Collings Knight, Jr and his wife in 1922, this historic mansion could well be called Corolla’s first vacation home, and one we’re sure you won’t want to miss! Local restaurants offer fresh seafood entrees daily, and unique boutiques boast gifts of all shapes and sizes. For the more adventurous, area guides offer tours into the remote northern most realms of the Outer Banks where Wild Horses roam. Boardwalks and bike trails offer outdoor exploration. Kayaking, surfing, fishing, and golfing are also extremely popular here. The great outdoors beckons, will you heed its call?
